The new Starlight Park has attractions for all ages including a synthetic turf multi-purpose field; basketball courts; picnic and chess/checkers tables; a pair of playgrounds; broad paths for jogging and biking; and lots of open green space to romp in along the lush woods that line the Bronx River. The Bronx River Alliance is excited to announce that Starlight Park, a reclaimed and expanding park which opened in 2013, has received $4.4 million from the National Fish and Wildlife Foundation to strengthen Starlight's shoreline along the Bronx River. The money will be used to re-naturalize the shoreline, restore habitat function, and remove contaminated soil within the park.
