Weekly Data Sheets for SLPs (with a Freebie!) Today, I'd like to share with you how I take plan out my therapy week and record data during sessions. I'm not one that has elaborate lesson plans - what is important to me is to know when I am scheduled to see students, which classroom (s) I need to get them from, and what their IEP goals are.

I have 2 questions. How do you keep data within one session, if you have 5 students , all language goals and they have differing goals? I see each sheet is generally devoted to each student (I think), so I am having trouble keeping data quickly , as they are answering, but not wanting to flip pages as I jot down each students response.

Data sheets are such a necessary evil! I use one for my artic students that has 20 small blocks per line with a line separating the groups of ten (similar to one of Crazy Speech World's above)…this makes it very easy to count for the daily percentage instead of having to count each + and - mark.

Tallies are the most traditional of all data collection options, and the one that most SLPs are comfortable with. I think this has to do a lot with the fact that this is the method generally taught in graduate school. Since new SLPs usually haven't been exposed to other data collection options, they just roll with what they know.
